Ma, Rare Earth

May 10, 2015

To all the mothers! If you haven’t heard of the band, Rare Earth, please check them out. I can’t describe how awesome they are. My wife and I have a second hand store we frequent for records. This one day we didn’t see anything we recognized so we each bought a record solely on the cover art. My wife chose a green and black cover of stylized face with glasses on and I chose an album of a black line drawing of a naked fat woman riding a small rocking horse. After we had purchased them and were sitting in our car we discovered they were the same band! Rare Earth.

This album is dedicated to Ma. This post is dedicated to Ma, and this day is dedicated to Ma. Mom, I love you!

Sometimes my team wins. Sometimes they lose. The results are important, but they aren’t the reason why I am a supporter. Fight for our life!

Locked but not loaded, yet.

The booth is ready for ammunition. Drawings and paintings will be hung in the morning.

Sales start at 11am, so you’ll be able to get your Saturday lie in. Flock of Seagulls are on at 7:30pm, and Berlin follow at 8:30. That gives a good window for enjoying Yucaipa’s old town, and supporting local artists and local business.

April 9, 2015

For the past year or so my family have been members of the museum. It is the boys and my “home away from home.” Weather you have children or not; it is a great place to spend some quality time. Just what any kid needs to spark curiosity and inspiration. Here are a couple of photos from just another beautiful Southern California day in the inland empire, at the museum.

In the words of my eldest son, age 3. “Here is one of our best buddys,” Tonka.  4 yellow dandelions deep. The next photos are some other, good buddies, enjoying the sunshine. We encountered  them while on our search for dandelions.

  And then they were gone.

Fullerton Art Walk

April 7, 2012

I was involved in the March 2 year anniversary of the Fullerton Art walk. It was an outdoor event with many Fullerton local artists showing off their stuff. I was fortunate to meet some new art lovers as well as see some old friends. Thank you to all who were able to show their love for the arts.

Mr. Rodney Daut, an art lover from Oregon, was in the area for the festivities. Check out his article and photos from his personal blog <HERE>

Here is a peek at the Theostyle booth. (Handmade, no hardware, A-frames… Thanks Pops!) Newest small framed pieces now on display at Hairajuku Salon in Rancho Cucamonga.

The STINGLE FIN

March 9, 2009

Before i went to Brasil, GrifFIN and i talked about shaping up a board based off of the old Aipa stinger. It wasn’t able to accompany me on my trip, but i got it glassed as soon as i got back. Not patient enough to wait and paint it, Grif and i took it out the day it came out of Clearwater. We scored head high, slightly textured, HB, with no one out… and let me tell you this board is by far my favorite board i have. Everyone should have a Stingley in there quiver! A couple of my friends have ridden it and they all have the same reaction… Dude! That board is really fun… I’m gonna have to try it again. So, if you want a little dibble dabble on the Stingle fin, let’s go for a sesh. If you want your own Stingley, then i know the man who can shape ’em!  Check it out!

Back in Brazil!

January 23, 2009

Sorry for the absence from the blog posts. I arrived in Sao Paulo on Monday and have been having an amazing time. I have already met life long friends and haven’t been getting much sleep, due to never wanting the fun to end. Unfortunately i have misplaced or lost my camera… so all the photos i had to share have been lost as well. I did bring an additional camera so you won’t be missing out on what else the trip has to offer.

The first day i was here, it was extremely hot but absolutely beautiful. The rest of the time it has been raining on and off and relatively windy. The waves have been crossed up because of the winds, but you can definitely see a potential for a lines up trestles like wave… I am trying to get a ride to another spot tomorrow with my new found friends, where they say the water is clear and the waves are hollow. I think its worth a try. This photo is of the whole bay of santos. on the very right you can see the museum, almost done with construction. Jair and i, with the help of others, plan to move and mount all the artwork in the museum tomorrow. There is soo much artwork at his house its unbelievable. Sunday will be the opening and i know it will be a huge success.

Aprecie.

Last Weekend Inspirations.

November 18, 2008

So as promised, here are a couple of photos from Friday and Saturday’s surf and paint sessions. This whole weekend was full of inspiration and love. I can’t wait to have a moment to myself to vibe off of the photos and memories. Life is busy, which is great… but sometimes you need some time to reflect on the moments that make you live, and channel that passion into something creative. Here are some photos from the past weekend taken from our very own Walrus. Thank you Kyle, Seahorse and Walrus for an amazing weekend, can’t wait for the next one. Oh, and by the way…

I haven’t been able to take any photos lately, because i don’t have a battery charger for my camera, but… My long lost friend, Style Lightnar has been doing some serious living. Kyle’s blog is an everyday experience for me, and he never ceases to amaze me with his style and photography skills. A great friend and a master through the lens, check out his life… one day at a time, at his photo blog.
