Come With Me…

December 14, 2008

Hail Mary!

This one’s for the Walrus.

December 6, 2008

I apologize for not posting lately… i have been in full production mode, getting ready for  a big art show on Sunday. I got the Animal back from its gloss and polish, but the battery in my camera died as i was taking the pic, so i will post part 3 later. Not sure if they will be any different from the last ones, but i’ll post them anyway.

My brother recently left for England and will be gone for over a month, visiting family. Unfortunately he will miss my show on Sunday, but the Walrus is always attending in spirit. This post is dedicated to my brother… Bummed you couldn’t be here to see it in person, but i know you’ll appreciate it none the less. Say hello to Eddie.

Last Weekend Inspirations.

November 18, 2008

So as promised, here are a couple of photos from Friday and Saturday’s surf and paint sessions. This whole weekend was full of inspiration and love. I can’t wait to have a moment to myself to vibe off of the photos and memories. Life is busy, which is great… but sometimes you need some time to reflect on the moments that make you live, and channel that passion into something creative. Here are some photos from the past weekend taken from our very own Walrus. Thank you Kyle, Seahorse and Walrus for an amazing weekend, can’t wait for the next one. Oh, and by the way…

The Walrus is Paul.

Peinture de pièce de bébés

November 8, 2008

The Eiffel Tower has been relocated to little Arrows room, in Redlands. Here are a couple of photos from the last couple of days… i am trying to update daily, but if you need a fix of some good art and i haven’t come through, cruise over to Grass is Greener and take in the vibe.

Wood is good.

Tom’s/Active mural relocation and muralization.

November 4, 2008

A couple months ago, Br3tt, James, Baldulus and myself did some serious destruction on some panels for Tom’s shoes and the Active rideshop in Costa Mesa. The final outcome has been on display at the CAMP until Yesterday. Unfortunately, Baldulus couldn’t attend the second coming, but Br3tt, James, and I took an arsenal of muralizing weapons to Active Ride Shop Headquarters in Rancho Cucamonga, and kept the Baldulus spirit alive. I am pretty sure that no one there new what was about to go down… we came in quietly, but left a massive storm of art on there walls. This will be the first of more to come, we have got our sites on a new target in the Venice area. I will update you as soon as i gather more info. Until then, enjoy these pictures of our latest “working vacation.”

The NUB.

November 1, 2008

Here is the latest shred sled added to the boardfolio, now in the hands of my good friend Luke. I decided to let the professionals handle the shaping, and i would handle the art. GrifFIN, from GNK surfboards helped me out by mowing down the foam and shaping a super fun looking, small wave destroyer… the NUB. Luke asked for some sort of military type art, so here is the final outcome… GrifFIN and i are in the works to have a good size quiver painted and ready for purchase. If you’re looking to get a new board for the winter, don’t hesitate to drop a line. We are always down to mow some foam and throw some paint around.

New shit!

October 30, 2008

I have a couple of new works to post but i haven’t had the chance to grab a photo of them so please don’t hate me and check back… But in the mean time, surf on over to GrassisGreenerProject, where my good friend Kyle Lightnar has done it again. Like i mentioned in an earlier post, Kyle is doing some serious living. Not only is he being inspired, but he is inspiring. He has cut through the crap and is getting back to basics. Do yourself a favor and feast your eyes and your mind on purity, love, art, natural flow and positive energy.

New addition.

October 6, 2008

For some reason, even when you think you have a little time to do your own thing, there is always something you have to do.  Here is the latest painting, done during the “inbetween times” of having to do something… (If that makes sense.) 4×4 acrylic on canvas, hanging at Hairajuku Salon, Rancho.

Art Show Lagtime…

September 25, 2008

I apologize for not updating as much as i would like to. The show at EVocal on Friday has got me cruising around all over the place. Check out Glas Apparel and Film, they will be using 2 of my paintings on some of there apparel i believe for Spring ’09. They will be there on Friday representing with a film screening of Puddles in the Sky, and showing some love. Thank you to all that have help prepare the show and I am looking forward to seeing you all there!!

See you Friday!

Give Love Back!

September 8, 2008

The past week was spent in San Diego at the Action Sports Retail convention.  We definitely brought the vibe… Djs, live music, fashion shows, and constant live painting, were what you would have been immersed in if you came by the E-Vocal, Glue network, Tom’s shoes booth at ASR. A lot of people cruised by, and i hope a lot of people were made aware of what the Give Love Back Campaign was all about. Here are some of the pics from ASR. Thank you to all that came down to show support and love, without you none of this would be possible.

Enough said.

Thank you to Mr. Toombs for taking my vision and putting it into action.

Somehow, the E-Vocal crew got a gig at a local bar called, Aubergene. We brought the sound and the visual stimulation. I ended up getting in on the festivities and decided to give love back to Mr. Evocal himself. I’m still not sure how Br3tt felt about having his face on a 4×8 piece of plywood. I actually think he “accidentally” left it in SD. Thank you Br3tt for involving me in your dream.

Hairjuku. 12365 Foothill Blvd. Rancho Cucamonga

August 27, 2008

I cruised out to Rancho Cucamonga on Monday with my muralizing partner, James “the Swede” Matter, to conquer some walls in the Hairjuku Salon. We painted till the early hours of this morning, surrounded by paint paraphernalia, the tunes of Bob Marley, and the beautiful women of HairJuku. I believe Jessie, the visionaire, was stoked o the final outcome… and so were we. I love dots.

James lovin’ the dots… and the lips.

The Jimi Twin.

August 5, 2008

For those of you who don’t know… I relocated my studio to the cool bluffs of Costa Mesa. Since moving there i have taken a stab at shaping surfboards. Let me tell you… there is nothing like drinking a couple of brews and plowing down some foam. Here are some photos of the newest addition to my boardfolio, pre-glass. The first Jimi Twin was shaped by Abandund shaping extrordanair, Bryan Berlin. The lastest Jimi Twin was shaped by my own two hands, with the vocal guidance from Bryan. Pretty stoked on the outcome, both shape and paint!

It might look like a MR Super Twin…

But after a little bit of paint pushin’

It’s definitely a Jimi Twin.

Jimi #1 – Sold and destroying waves in Brazil by my Brazilian brother, Gustavo.

Absent but productive…

August 2, 2008

So… I haven’t been able to post everyday, but fortunately i haven’t been sitting on my ass doing nothing. Over the past week and a half i have completed a couple murals, painted a piece for an art show, shaped half a board, and setup some events for the weekend. Not much sleeping going on, but trying to stay true to reaching “the goal.” And like my good friend Brian Dorman used to say, “You can sleep when you die!”

Here’s where the hours went. Aprecíe.

Brasilian Beginnings…

July 14, 2008

During the next few days i will be trying to set up a “Back From Brasil” show, with new art all inspired by my trip to Brasil. It will be accompanied by the musical genius of the Baldulus. Keep checking back for more information, but until then here are the beginnings of a Theostyle/Baldulus collaboration.
