Locked but not loaded, yet.

May 1, 2015

The booth is ready for ammunition. Drawings and paintings will be hung in the morning.

Sales start at 11am, so you’ll be able to get your Saturday lie in. Flock of Seagulls are on at 7:30pm, and Berlin follow at 8:30. That gives a good window for enjoying Yucaipa’s old town, and supporting local artists and local business.

Past Reflections

Board cutout

I have been whisked away by life’s strong current. I remember when; and my mind drifts with the high tide. Dreaming constantly. The time is now, and my best is yet to come. All things cycle in rhythm; with purpose. In waves; and that is what I look for, everywhere. Repeating lines. Constant. Moving. In time.  Smells, sounds, sights, tastes and feelings. They will always be in me. Ready to awaken a memory and throw my mind into glide.  The little things are the most important. My life is complete and growing. The ocean is a part of me always. My life’s journey will return to memories, familiar and made new. It has happened. It will be. My faith is strong.

First love… and oil.

January 16, 2010

I have recently been involved in my first oil commissioned portrait… and i am loving it. This was an oil pastel drawing i did in college. The assignment was called first love… and just so happens to be in the collection of my good friend Kyle Lightner. (you should surf on by his website.)

Jims.

January 10, 2009

I have been wanting to revisit a painting that i did a couple of years ago. It was the first textured icon painting that inspired the rest of the series.  It was a picture of Jim done for my friend Matt Mcconnell. The process has changed a little and i have been very pleased with the evolution. Enjoy.

Past Muralizations

October 22, 2008

My good friend Neil “Dilf” Edwards, got me a mural job a while ago. Found these photos while deleting files on my old computer. It was painted in a lunch room, where i don’t think anyone ever ate lunch. It was the most bland, and depressing room i have ever seen. Hence the muralization.

Enjoy.

Santa Barbara Memories…

August 29, 2008

I was rummaging through some of my sketches and rough, small watercolor ideas, when i came across this gem. It sums up my feelings of surfing Naples… Hiking through cow pastures, looking off cliffs, early morning sunlight dancing off the feathering mist of offshore winds, long right handers, surfing with good friends…  AMULEEEEEEEKKKKYY!!!!!

Kyle, Jonas, Seahorse, myself, Kenny and Naples.

Art from the past.

August 15, 2008

I have been lagging a little bit on the blog posts, so here are some older works that i hope quench your artistic hunger. I painted these last year at the old Root. I didn’t have any canvas at the time so i painted on the backs of used screen printing screens. If you look closely you can see the scotch tape from masking off all the pin holes and registration marks… Cool effect tho.

Enjoy.
